About IHG® Business Advantage

What is IHG® Business Advantage?

IHG® Business Advantage helps you manage your business travel expenses simply and efficiently. It costs nothing to run and it’s easy to use—you simply use it to book hotel stays, then get one monthly VAT invoice and pay monthly by Direct Debit.

What benefits will I receive with IHG® Business Advantage?

There are four main benefits to IHG® Business Advantage:

  • IHG® Business Advantage account: This FREE payment solution means there’s no need to arrange credit at individual hotels and process numerous invoices. Individual travellers don’t have to dip into their personal finances, they simply use their Business Advantage Account card to check-in and pay.
  • Discounted hotel rate: Receive a 4% discounted rate at over 300 hotels across the UK. * So wherever your business takes you, you are guaranteed to be receiving the best rates. Plus, you don’t need to stay a minimum number of nights in our hotels to qualify for this discount.
  • Save on your next meeting or conference: You can also save when you arrange a day or 24-hour meeting. 1 in 10 delegates go free, up to a maximum of 10 at any one event. You can book through our meeting centre, direct with the hotel or through third party agencies.
  • IHG® Rewards Club Gold Elite Membership: Receive instant IHG® Rewards Club Gold Elite Membership, which allows you to earn points to use on rewards, such as free nights at any IHG® property and priority check-in.

*Please note Business Advantage offers 4% off Best Flex rate for its members, however Travel Agencies are not authorised to book this rate category. This 4% rate is non-commissionable.

Are there any charges?

No, with IHG® Business Advantage you only pay for what you spend and there are no charges for joining.

Will I have to pay interest?

No, an IHG® Business Advantage account is a payment card with the total balance settled monthly in full and no late payment fees.

Is there a minimum spend?

No, you can spend as little or as much as your credit limit allows. You have freedom to control your spending with our secure online management account. Read more about it in Online Account Management.

Applying for IHG® Business Advantage

How do I apply for IHG® Business Advantage?

You can apply for a IHG® Business Advantage account using our simple online form. Or you can speak to your local participating hotel about applying.

How many IHG® Business Advantage cards can I have?

You can have as few or as many cards as you want, depending on your requirements. You may only need one company card or you may want each of your business travellers to carry their own. Check out more details in Online Account Management.

How long does it take for my card to arrive?

You will receive your card within five working days of your application being received by us, provided you’ve been cleared for credit. You will not be credit-checked for additional cards if you are already an IHG® Business Advantage account holder.

Online account management

What do I do if I have lost my log-in details?

If you have lost any of your log-in details email us at ihg.businessaccount@atos.net or call us on 0845 603 2513 and we will arrange for a new log-in to be set up.

How do I manage my account?

The details of your account are available online 24/7 and here you gain access to 12 months of backdated invoices, statements and transactions. Once logged in you can manage credit limits, allocate cards to cost centres, order new cards and update your account details.

Can I view my statement online?

Yes, by logging into your account online you’ll be able to view your statement for the current month and the previous 12 months. You can also see transactions that have been processed but not yet billed and which are due to appear on next month’s statement.

How do I apply for additional IHG® Business Advantage cards?

Simply log-in to your account online. Go to ‘manage my cards’ and click the ‘add new card’ button and make your request. Alternatively contact us on 0845 603 2513 where our helpdesk is open Monday-Friday: 8:00am – 6.00pm* or email us at ihg.businessaccount@atos.net

Using IHG® Business Advantage

How do I activate my card?

To activate your IHG® Business Advantage card/s please click register and follow the on-screen instructions. Your individual activation will be sent to you via email once the account holder has invited you to register your card. You will need it to complete the activation process.

What happens if my card is lost or stolen?

Please notify the Business Advantage team, immediately on 0845 603 2513.

Any loss or theft should be confirmed in writing either via the website or by writing to Business Advantage at IHG® Business Advantage account, ATOS Worldline, 1 Trinity Court, Brooklands, Wolverhampton, West Midlands, WV10 6UH

Where can I use IHG® Business Advantage?

IHG® Business Advantage can be used at over 300 UK hotels including InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza® Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo®, Holiday Inn®, Holiday Inn Express® and Staybridge Suites®.

InterContinental London Park Lane does not accept Business Advantage as a payment method.

What can I pay for using the IHG® Business Advantage card?

A Business Advantage card can be used to pay for anything in the hotel that is charged to the room and payable on check-out. This includes rooms, meeting rooms, food and drink and any other hotel extras.

How do I make a booking?

Reservations can be made using all booking channels: online, via our app, via our central reservations office, direct with the hotel, through your corporate booking tool or via your usual travel agent. Simply quote your dedicated Corporate ID* to get an access to your discounted rate.

*You can find your Corporate ID in your programme welcome pack. Alternatively, please call us on 0845 603 2513 and we will reissue it for you.

Can I make a group booking with IHG® Business Advantage?

Yes, however if you are booking for a large group, please first contact Business Advantage Account on 0845 603 2513 to discuss your requirements and any additional credit that may be needed.

Are the bookings I make with my IHG® Business Advantage card guaranteed?

Yes, provided you give us the card number at the time of the booking. If you wish to cancel your reservation, please do so before 4pm on the one day prior to your stay. Our usual cancellation charges apply for any other rates you may decide to book. Please check rate description at the time of booking.

Is the 4% discount applicable to all my expenses during a stay?

Your discounted rate refers to a percentage off our daily best flexible rate and provides you with a 4% discount on any accommodation booking*. We have introduced a conference offer where 1 in 10 delegates go free to provide you with further savings when you book your next meeting or conference.

* This 4% rate is non-commissionable.

I can book via my preferred channel, how do ensure I get my 4% room rate discount when booking?

The Business Advantage card can be used to secure all rate types, not just the 4% discount rate. For this reason, the card does not automatically add on discount when you book. Make sure you provide all relevant information when booking accommodation. Quote your dedicated corporate ID number to access the discounted rates (4% off Best Flex rate).

You’ll also need your Guest name, card number and IHG® Business Advantage card expiry date.

Statements and pay

What information will I see on my invoice?

The invoice provides you with a transaction date, hotel location, guest name, reservation number and card number used for the booking. You can also see what the card was used for. For example, food and drink, or a newspaper.

In most cases the invoice will show the total amount spent with a comprehensive VAT breakdown. Invoices will be emailed to the registered account holder at the start of each month, unless specified to receive by post instead. Invoices can also be viewed online in Excel or PDF by logging into your account.

What do I do if I have a query about my statement?

You can query a transaction on your statement at any time during the six months following the issue of the statement. Please contact the IHG® Business Advantage help desk with your query.

How do I query a room invoice at check-out?

In the event of a hotel error at check-out, the process is the same as for any other credit or charge card. You should query the room invoice and in the case of error, the amount should be credited as normal before the card transaction is processed.

Can overseas bookings and expenses be charged to my Business Advantage account?

No. IHG® Business Advantage is currently available in the UK (including Northern Ireland) only. Please check our IHG® website for any of your travel needs outside of the UK.

Earning Rewards points

How can I earn rewards?

The IHG® Rewards Club is the hotel loyalty programme that gives you the freedom to do the things you love. Membership enables you to earn points every time you stay at any of our more than 5,000 IHG hotels worldwide. Find out more about IHG® Rewards Club or join now.

Can I still get IHG® Rewards Club points if I pay with IHG® Business Advantage?

All IHG® Business Advantage clients that are registered IHG® Rewards Club members can earn points when they stay at and IHG hotel. Also, through IHG® Business Rewards you will earn points for booking on behalf of others at the IHG® Business Rewards earn rate. You will earn points if you stay and the points you earn for your stay will be at the IHG® Rewards Club earn rate. Find out more about IHG® Business Rewards.

Do I still earn IHG® Rewards Club points when the stay is paid via my company’s Business Advantage card?

Absolutely, it’s the traveller or guests that get IHG® Rewards Club points, not necessarily the booker or company. The booker can enrol into our booker programme called IHG® Business Rewards to earn extra rewards. IHG® Rewards Club points are only linked to the guest staying at the hotel.

Can I earn points for my stay, as well as points for booking of my group, if I am one of the guests staying?

Yes, through IHG® Business Rewards you will earn points when you book on behalf of others at the IHG® Business Rewards earn rate. If you stay you will also earn points at the IHG® Rewards Club earn rate.

Can I earn IHG® Rewards Club points through IHG® Business Rewards when I book using IHG® Business Advantage?

Yes. Once you’ve applied for IHG® Business Rewards, make sure you inform the hotel that you are a member and you will earn points.

How many IHG® Rewards Club Gold Elite Membership upgrades can I get?

All IHG® Business Advantage account holders will receive three IHG® Rewards Club Gold Elite Membership upgrade vouchers. It is up to the account holder’s judgement to decide which three individuals within the business will receive the vouchers.

Vouchers are not linked to Business Advantage cards. Any additional payment card holders will need to enrol into IHG® Rewards Club but they will start on the Club level instead of being upgraded to the Gold Elite level.

Is an upgrade to IHG® Rewards Club Gold Elite Membership a permanent status or are there restrictions?

Once you have redeemed your Gold Elite membership status in any calendar year, you will maintain such status through the end of the following calendar year. Find out more about the status and its benefits.
